Education stakeholders in Kwara State have described education as the foundation for societal transformation and equipping future leaders.
Speaking at the recognition of excellence and presentation of cash prizes among outstanding secondary school students of Cherubim and Seraphim Secondary School, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, the chief operating officer of a leading real estate agent, Quick Access, Bolanle Ojo, said that the organisation is committed to supporting education as a cornerstone of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Mrs Ojo, who said that the CEO of the organisation, Bolatito Ojo, was a beneficiary of FG scholarship in 2002, added that the commitment to supporting academic excellence was aimed at giving back to the society.
Four exceptional students from Senior Secondary School (SSS) 1 and 2 received cash awards of N100,000 each for their outstanding performance in Mathematics and Economics.
The recipients included Ampitan Deborah, who emerged as the best student in Mathematics and Ibrahim Olayemi Aishat, as best in Economics.
Additionally, Bello Adesewa Susan and Isiaku Serah Mercy, who emerged as the best students in Mathematics and Economics at SSS2, respectively, also received cash awards of N100,000 each.
The school principal, Mrs Folashade Abifarin, expressed her gratitude to Quick Access Micro and Macro Limited for their generosity, acknowledging the significant impact of their cash awards on the students’ academic journey.
She appealed to the government to take decisive action to rescue the education sector from the looming threat of decline, emphasising the imperative need to safeguard the value and integrity of education for future generations.
“This noble gesture by Quick Access Micro and Macro Limited is a testament to the company’s commitment to giving back to society and supporting the development of future leaders”.
The occasion was witnessed by parents, educators, community leaders and education stakeholders among others.
